I've been coming to the Lake Erie Islands every summer since 2003 — riding the Miller and Jet Express ferries, renting golf carts at Put-in-Bay, booking the island hotels (the quiet ones and the loud ones), and dragging my family to Cedar Point more times than I can count. Travel Lake Erie is where I put the advice I wish someone had given me the first time.

How we make recommendations

Every guide here is based on time actually spent in the region, cross-checked against current ferry schedules, hotel policies and attraction hours before each season. When something changes — a boat line drops a route, a hotel adds a two-night minimum, a coaster spends the summer broken down — we update the page and change the date on it. If we haven't stayed somewhere or done something ourselves, we say so.

How the site makes money

Travel Lake Erie is free to read. Some links — hotels and tours in particular — are affiliate links, which means if you book through them we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we recommend or the order we list things in; the honest noise warnings and “stay on the mainland instead” advice are proof of that.
